Can you tell me who owns the copyright of the image on your website of Marianne Faithfull and Mick Jagger.

I would like to use it in a book I am working on and am having trouble ascertaining who was the photographer.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Would the Zappa parental advisory have anything to do with the song title “G-Spot Tornado”? That’s all I can figure, unless someone was making a joke. Until you (or someone else) says otherwise, I’m going to guess that some dude in a Meyer Music corporate office started listening to the CD, didn’t care for it at all (it’s some pretty weird synthesized stuff–really tough to get into, even in comparison to other Zappa albums), and got lazy and concluded it must eventually have vocals and the title of that song meant it must be offensive.

I think you’re very likely correct on that point, Jack, although I hope, for the sake of the people who passed said legend around as truth, that Faithfull was more explicit at times with the story!

The Nillson one is a hilarious example of the old “telephone” game. I’m pretty sure that Marianne Faithful meant to say that Harry Nillson died at around the same time as the earthquake (the “disappeared in his coffin” and the earthquake mention are intended to be separate items) and it was turned into the legend seen here. People are funny sometimes.

I think some of the innacuracies (´´and though they could not produce the gun´´) were due to Jacques Levy, a playwright with a flair for the dramatic, according to Dylan, being heavily involved in many of the songs on Desire. (I think another one that took some liberties with the truth was Joey).
So was the original version of Hurricane never released?

Hurricane is one of my favorite Dylan songs. I love the driving pulse of it. Never really knew the details of the story behind the song, so thank you!
