To be fair, while I don't recall for sure, odds are that I edited the piece to say 31 after the comment.

I heartily approve of Kirk's way of honoring marriage.

But I didn't know 'Alfalfa' died he same day as DeMille. I always learn stuff from your site!

Nice piece on the Tony Curtis Monroe / Hitler story.
BUT it's a pity that you accidentally used a picture that DIDN'T feature Marilyn!
When they did the pictures for the poster of Some Like It Hot, Marilyn wasn't aailable, so a stand-in was used - an actress from the movie - and later MM's head was pasted in.
I have a feature about this somewhere (possibly the stand-in actress wrote about it?). If I can find it, I'll send you a link.
Thanks for a smashing site!

Alfalfa's later career wasn't quite as bad as you imply. He was in 'State Of The Union' and 'Pat And Mike' with Hepburn and Tracy, and he was in 'The Defiant Ones' (which starred Tony Curtis, also mentioned in this column). And those are just the movies I've seen. There were probably more. All of Switzer's parts were very small, but at least he was appearing in some significant movies with big-name stars.

A little nitpick:

Unless the headstone is wrong, Switzer was 31 when he died, not 32.
