…A couple of tidbits about “To Be or Not To Be”:

1) Mel Brooks did a remake in the 80′s that was actually a bit funnier than the Benny/Lombard version, and touched upon the oppression of the Poles, Jews and *especially* the homosexuals than the original provided.

2) The original had a copy that was being circulated in the 70′s for syndication that had been accidentally edited at one station, and was circulated for several years with neither the subsequent stations or the distributor catching the edit. The 35mm print had been damaged during playback, and a film editor had spliced the film back together…only that he’d left out all of the ending between the scene where Benny has put on his Hitler makeup and leaves the theater, and the ending credits! Viewers were left with a disjointed, incomplete ending that could only be interpreted as Benny’s character going on to completely replace Hitler, and the fates of everyone else trying to escape left up to anyone’s guess.

The supposed meeting between Fairbanks and Chaplin is pretty much a scene from Yankee Doodle Dandy, right? So did the falsified story inspire the YDD scene, or did the YDD scene inspire the story?

Yeah, on the T2 twin thing. Both Linda Hamilton and her twin sister came from my hometown in Salisbury, Md. I used to work in a pharmacy, and the pharmacist I worked for went to the local high school with her. Yeah, they, Dale Midkiff, John Glover, and Alexis Denisof come from my hometown.

Similarly, Nicholas Brenden’s (Xander on Buffy the Vampire Slayer) twin brother often worked as his stunt double on the show, and in one episode in which the character is split into two beings (one all the positive aspects of Xander, the other his lamer qualities) each brother played one of the Xanders.

I believe Linda’s sister also is used in a scene where Sarah Conner is removing a chip from the T-800′s head. She’s doing it infront of a mirror, but in reality there’s no mirror, it’s her sister mimicking her actions…

I hate this backdating thing…it is pointless. He’s concerned that his archives will show gaps in months from a lack of content. That is just a bad thought process. If you can’t put out the posts, don’t fake the dates because eventually you will dig yourself into a hole.
