Sorry, I meant “works” when I wrote “novels.” My bad!

As for the connection thing, what I meant was that they had no connection to Fleming at all. License to KIll clearly had a connection since he used the phrase often in his works.

But yeah, I was not counting Never Say Never Again (for reasons I’m sure you get). But I should have noted that in the article.

You obviously forgot about Timothy Dalton’s second Bond film, LICENCE TO KILL (and, with more reason, are obviously not counting NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN).

I note also that FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, A VIEW TO A KILL, OCTOPUSSY, and THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS all take their titles from short stories, not novels.

Regarding the Geisel films, it’s not really a matter of the U.S. military being loose about the use of “intellectual property of the U.S. Military” so much as it being impossible, by statute, for the U.S. Military (or any other part of the U.S. government) from holding copyright at all:
