Click <a href=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/2009\/04\/19\/tv-legends-revealed-history\/\">here<\/a> to view an archive of the TV urban legends featured so far.<\/p>\n<p><u><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">TV URBAN LEGEND<\/span><\/u>: The Flintstones did commercials for Winston Cigarettes.<\/p>\n<p>Like <a href=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/2012\/12\/08\/did-the-beverley-hillbillies-theme-song-have-alternate-lyrics-for-each-of-their-sponsors\/\">I have noted before<\/a>, integrated commercials within TV shows was the norm in the early days of television. However, it rarely got more surreal than with the Flintstones, the prime time animated program that began airing in 1960. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/flintstones.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><iframe src=\"http:\/\/rcm.amazon.com\/e\/cm?t=legenrevea-20&#038;o=1&#038;p=8&#038;l=as1&#038;asins=B001CC7POE&#038;ref=tf_til&#038;fc1=000000&#038;IS2=1&#038;lt1=_blank&#038;m=amazon&#038;lc1=0000FF&#038;bc1=000000&#038;bg1=FFFFFF&#038;f=ifr\" style=\"width:120px;height:240px;\" scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>You see, one of their sponsors the first two seasons was Winston Cigarettes (just like the Beverly Hillbillies, as noted <a href=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/2012\/12\/08\/did-the-beverley-hillbillies-theme-song-have-alternate-lyrics-for-each-of-their-sponsors\/\">in this legend<\/a>, as well). <\/p>\n<p>So at the end of the show, they&#8217;d do commercials for the cigarettes.
