Click <a href=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/2009\/04\/19\/architecture-urban-legends-history\/\">here<\/a> to view an archive of the musical urban legends featured so far.<\/p>\n<p><u><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">MUSICAL URBAN LEGEND<\/span><\/u>: Andrew Lloyd Webber had a hit dance single on the British charts in 1992 with a song about Tetris (featuring music from the video game).<\/p>\n<p>Whatever else you might think of Andrew Lloyd Webber, you have to give the guy some credit for just how eclectic he has been in his pursuits.<\/p>\n<p>Already famous for his musicals Evita and Cats, Webber entered a whole other stratosphere of fame when he released his musical Phantom of the Opera in 1986<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/andrewlloydwebber.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/phantom.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><iframe src=\"http:\/\/rcm-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/cm?t=legenrevea-20&#038;o=1&#038;p=8&#038;l=as1&#038;asins=B00004YTY2&#038;fc1=000000&#038;IS2=1&#038;lt1=_blank&#038;m=amazon&#038;lc1=0000FF&#038;bc1=000000&#038;bg1=FFFFFF&#038;f=ifr\" style=\"width:120px;height:240px;\" scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Lloyd Webber was now perhaps the most famous musical composer in the world. <\/p>\n<p>In 1992, he was knighted by the Queen of England (five years later, he became a Baron).<\/p>\n<p>In 1992, Webber had another, perhaps less noble, distinction to his long line of distinctions &#8211; he had a top ten hit on the UK Singles chart with, of all things, a dance song!<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s odd enough, but even better, the dance song was called&#8230;.&#8221;Tetris.&#8221;<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/tetris2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Andrew Lloyd Webber and record producer Nigel Wright got together to release a Eurodance version of the theme song to the video game, Tetris (where players have to manuever shapes to form solid lines), under the alias &#8220;Doctor Spin.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the CD version of the single, as well as the vinyl version&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/doctorspin2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/doctorspinimg_4313large.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Doctor Spin never had another hit single.<\/p>\n<p>Then again, has Webber had a hit musical since then, either?<\/p>\n<p>Maybe Tim Rice should give the Doctor Spin name a try&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>The legend is&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><u><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">STATUS<\/span><\/u>: True<\/p>\n<p>Feel free (heck, I implore you!) to write in with your suggestions for future urban legends columns!
