Click <a href=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/2009\/04\/19\/tv-legends-revealed-history\/\">here<\/a> to view an archive of the TV urban legends featured so far.<\/p>\n<p><u><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">TV URBAN LEGEND<\/span><\/u>: TaleSpin was sued over the voice of King Louie.<\/p>\n<p>In 1967, Disney released an animated film adaptation (more &#8220;inspired by&#8221; than adapted) of Rudyard Kipling&#8217;s The Jungle Book. The movie was a hit. Read on to find out why!<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Prima really enjoyed how popular the character of King Louie became and felt that he gained a sort of immortality from the film. However, after he died in 1978, his widow took issue with a few different things. Perhaps most importantly to her in direct terms, she felt that Prima&#8217;s estate had not been paid its fair share of royalties from the film.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly, she took issue with Disney hiring an actor (the great voice actor, Jim Cummings) to essentially do a perfect Louis Prima impression on TaleSpin. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/kinglouie.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/kinglouie-515x479.jpg\" alt=\"kinglouie\" width=\"515\" height=\"479\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-7709\" srcset=\"https:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/kinglouie-515x479.jpg 515w, https:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/kinglouie-375x349.jpg 375w, https:\/\/legendsrevealed.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/kinglouie.jpg 567w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>She felt that Prima&#8217;s voice was so distinctive (and most importantly, it was famous and distinctive well BEFORE The Jungle Book came out) that Disney was essentially using his trademark voice without permission.
